It’s YAABy again, your indie web browser experience for all the Droids out there!

Another year, another version of me, myself and I! <3

YAABy 0.2.8 was freshly released today and like always, let’s see a refreshed batch of those fancy screen shots of me:

Ahhh, don’t I look nice!?

There’s a brand new feature included too, see here:

Version 0.2.8
NEW: toggle for desktop view of websites
NEW: Android 10 compatible
NEW: Update text strings for all languages
NEW: Update UserAgent string to 0.2.8

The desktop version is best used when the device is hold in landscape mode. That’s just a hint, of course it’ll work also in portrait mode as long the toggle is checked. Please also uncheck the toggle when you switch websites; otherwise desktop view will be requested all the time – but this should be self-explanatory.

Enough of the “Happys”.

This month is kraken celebration month as we are proud to witness a brand new release of me, your most favourite Android web browser friend, in more than two years*.

As always, let’s introduce the new version with a batch of the most recent additions of screen shots:

Plus, the overview of what’s new this time:

Version 0.2.7
NEW: App color theme
NEW: Support for 64bit devices
NEW: Support for Android 9 (Pie)
NEW: Update text strings for all languages
NEW: Update UserAgent string to 0.2.7
FIX: minor code adjustments

Some killer features include a coloured me as well as the support of Android 64bit devices.

Hey folks!

With the current version 0.2.6 of me, myself & I did another benchmark: HTML5 this time! You know, benchmarking myself is a hobby which I enjoy from time to time!

Q: Is YAABy HTML5 ready?
A: Oh, yes, definitely:

Hint: these were freshly made in June in full screen mode when version 0.2.6 was released.

What happens here is quite neat: these results not only show that I’m already dead ready for the future of the web, these show also which regions need improvement or even no improvement at all.

So, from what these figures show, I’m already maxed out regarding:

* parsing rules
* web components
* location and orientation
* input
* communication
* streaming
* responsive images
* animation
* storage
* files
* other

What still needs minimum improvement, but almost perfect:

* forms
* streams
* peer to peer
* user interaction
* performance
* security
* video
* 2D graphics
* 3D and vr

To be honest, the following stuff is needing some improvement:

* elements
* audio
* web applications

And, of course there are two categories where I badly suck:

* output
* payments

Happy. Hot. Summer.

Europe. 2017. A whole continent is b-u-r-n-i-n-g. And so am I: YAABy. Your independent web browser friend.

Sweat everywhere. But I stayed cool: as of today there is a complete new version out!

It was only a small version step for all the Droids. But a major leap for me, myself and I. Here’s an overview of my newest additions:

Version 0.2.6:
NEW: favicon support. finally…
NEW: got my own YAABy UA string
NEW: compatible with all the Chromebooks out there
NEW: compatible with Android 7.x.x (Nougat)
NEW: screen shot updates
FIX: minor bug & code fixes

As you may see, I keep my promises. I’m no fake. 100% real Android app apk clingy-bingy. And finally you got your stupid favicons. I’ll eat them all! Muhahaha…

Happy Valentine’s! New YAABy version 0.2.5 is out!

Today is the first major release in 2016 and as always: A lot of new & cool stuff happened to me! Firstly, let’s see my newest batch of screenshots! Le shots:

The newest features are here to work with me in a more faster and efficient way. Le features en detail:

Version 0.2.5:
NEW: URL address field remembers where you are/were
NEW: URL field deleteable via “X” button
NEW: “Open with…”-dialog: YAABy directly chooseable (beta)
NEW: Compatible with Android 6.x.x (Marshmellow)
NEW: Screenshot updates
FIX: Facebook eliminated

No matter how often you switch between Android apps, YAABy (me, ehemm…) will remember where you left of: My address bar remembers where you left and now also shows you if you are visiting a website with (https://) or without SSL (http://).

Next thing: Via the “X” button it is now possible to delete an URL in no time. So you don’t have to hassle through the URL field via your cursor. Finished reading a website? Click the “X” and type a new URL in no time!

Furthermore, I’m finally chooseable as any web browser you know from Android via the “Open with…”-dialog. But take care: This feature is still beta! Find out for yourself and don’t expect wonders! Thanks.

Finally, I also dropped Facebook. There is no Facebook page anymore for YAABy. Well, who am I? Maintaining an own website without supporting it!? You got me!

Good day! How may I serve you?

The most recent release is dedicated to the underworld goddess Ereškigal. May she serve all those brave demons slayers who are trapped here. If you were worth it…

I updated this app to support her and her beautiful and wonderful work. I as a browser wish her only the bestest and hope to serve her very soon! Anybody who knows her and her kind spirit will confirm that she’s the sunshine in person! One love!
